The yellow to green-yellow olive oil works as a perfect massage oil, as well as for the attention of normal to combination skin. It has outstanding skin care benefits, it is very kind to the skin and it is a great carrier oil for active agents. Therefore, it is highly suitable for normal to dry skin and it leaves the skin feeling soft and silky. Olive Oil is characterised by its high content of unsaturated oleic acid.

Alcohol is another term for ethanol or ethyl alcohol. In manufacturing plant extracts contained in Weleda's products, mixtures of alcohol and water are used as extraction agents in some formulations. The consistency and stability of natural cosmetic products are improved by alcohol.

Beeswax is a precipitate of bees' wax glands, which is used to build the honeycombs. The wax melts at a temperature of over 60°C. The skin-friendly beeswax is mainly used as an emulsifying agent and to improve consistency. Beeswax leaves a fine film on the skin, which prevents it from drying out.

Calendula blossoms have a light- to dark-orange colour and are typical of the Calendula flower. They contain various carotenoids, flavonoids and saponins. Calendula Officinalis Flower Extracts have smoothing properties and support the regeneration of the skin.

Lemon Juice has an astringent and toning effect. It is well suited as an ingredient of facial cleaning products.

The Althaea Officinalis Root Extract is especially characterised by containing long-chained sugar and phytosterol. Watery Althaea Officinalis Root Extract forms a moisturising and protecting layer on the skin which calms and soothes it. Therefore, the extract is especially well suited for the care of dry and sensitive skin.

The Jojoba plant is an evergreen shrub that bears olive-shaped fruits and grows wild in arid environments such as, Israel, Arizona Mexico and South America. Jojoba Seed Oil is derived from the seeds (beans) within the fruits. This oil is an oily liquid wax that is very similar to the protective layer of the human skin. At the same time, it supports the barrier function of the skin. Thereby it protects the skin against water loss without leaving it greasy. It is very skin friendly, easily absorbed and is therefore a suitable care product for all skin types, especially for dry skin. It is also very suitable as a base oil in products because it’s very stable and doesn’t oxidise (go rancid) easily.

Field horsetail (equisetum arvense) contains silica and flavonoids. Extracts from field horsetail have a regenerating effect and strengthen skin and hair.

The extract from the flowers, stems and leaves of the dwarf nettle contains silicic acid, mineral salts and flavonoids. Nettle extracts have a soothing effect on the skin.

Echinacea contains caffeic acid derivatives, polysaccharides and lipophilic components. With its distinctive beautiful purple cone flowers, this whole plant extract of Echinacea helps to protect and soothe the skin.

Sodium alginate is the water-soluble salt of alginic acid. It is used as a natural gelling agent, for example in tooth gels. Alginic acids and their salts are not absorbed by the body.

Angelica archangelica is cultivated for its use in perfumery. The Angelica Archangelica root contains an essential oil which contributes an unique sweet and spicy aroma.

The Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Extract of the flowers, stems and leaves of the chamomile plant contains essential oils, flavone derivatives and coumarin. Chamomile flower extracts have a skin-soothing effect and support the regeneration of the skin.

Lavender flower is a vegetable oil extract from lavender flowers used for its soothing effect on the skin.

With bright yellow flowers, St. John's Wort is rich in active components, including flavonoids and tannins. Known for its many beneficial effects, St. John's Wort is used for its astringent and soothing properties to help protect and calm the skin.

Aloe Vera contains single and multiple sugars as well as vitamins and proteins in the water storage tissue of its leaves. The Aloe Vera gel builds a cooling and protective mucus layer on the skin, which provides and retains moisture. It is used in products for the care of blemished, upset or dry skin.

Lecithin is isolated from plant sources and has emulsifying properties.

Geranium Oil has a sweet rose, floral aroma that has been used for centuries to add a beautiful fragrance to body care products.

Labdanum Absolute is a fragrant oleoresin used in perfumes and as a fixative. It is extracted from Cistus ladaniferus, a member of the rock rose family.

A member of the pine family, the resin extracted from the European Larch tree is used in skin care products to support the skin.

Lavender Oil is an essential oil, which is derived from fresh lavender panicles. Along with other natural essential oils it is used for aromatisation.

Palmarosa belongs to a family of tropical grasses rich in aromatic essential oil. A fresh floral fragrance with notes of geranium and rose.
