The whole botanical extracts in Weleda's body care preparations contain natural vitamins including bioflavonoids, beta carotenes and other natural anti-oxidants and minerals. These penetrate deeply into the skin, to nourish and help support the skin's collagen and elastin foundation and help it to stay firm and youthful.
Weleda's cream bases are made from beeswax and precious oils which increase the absorbance of the plant extracts into the skin structure, to nourish, protect and help prevent premature aging.

Men's Skin Care

Because a man's skin is different from a woman's - it is thicker, oilier and has smaller sebaceous glands - we consider it to have a stronger ability to self protect and to fight against external influences. What we don't consider is that it is actually still quite delicate. Why? Because men, especially 'outdoorsy blokes', tend to expose themselves to a variety of environmental extremes that can give their skin a beating. Sun, wind, water, salt and air pollution can all reek havoc on a man's skin. Shaving is also a major aggravating factor. Not only does it destroy the hydrolipidic film leading to a loss of natural protection, but it also causes nicks and irritation and leaves the skin sensitive, dehydrated and uncomfortable. Wild Rose Bodycare

For centuries the rose was favoured among the aromatic plants for its exotic fragrance and harmonising effect on the body and mind. Rose Oil, more precious than gold, remains a key ingredient in quality cosmetics and perfumery, and is especially useful for dry, sensitive and aging skins.
Weleda's luxury Rose body care range was formulated using blends of pure botanical extracts and oils, to nurture and beautify skin. Sea Buckthorn Body Care

Sea Buckthorn is a coastal shrub which grows wild among sand dunes and on chalky cliffs in much of Europe. Sea Buckthorn golden-red berries contain a unique combination of antioxidant vitamins A, C and E, flavonoids and essential fatty acids (omega 3, 6, 7) which are easily absorbed and provide intensive care and replenishment to the skin. These nutrients help protect the skin from UV radiation and free-radical damage.

The Sea Buckthorn extract in Weleda’s preparations comes from crops farmed biodynamically in Tuscany, Italy. The fresh and fruity fragrance from pure essential oils of mandarin, orange and grapefruit intensifies the revitalising effect.

Based on the cooling and stimulating qualities of the lemon, these premium quality products support the skin's collagen and elastin foundation. Precious plant extracts and oils containing vitamins, anti-oxidants and minerals penetrate deeply to nourish, hydrate and help the skin to stay firm and youthful.

Lemon has extraordinary benefits for the skin. It naturally regulates the skin's pH balance, and has an astringent and cleansing effect. The combined constituents of lemon, which include bioflavonoids, promote the natural production of collagen and reduce signs of aging on the skin. The cooling, refreshing extract from the fresh fruit of the lemon is especially good for tightening connective tissue, helping to tone tired skin, and reduce the appearance of broken capillaries. Because Lemon removes dead cells it brightens pale or dull complexions and softens scar tissue.

Birch Body Care

Birch has long been used in both beauty and medicinal formulations and is helpful where there is a reduced ability to rid the body of toxins. The key ingredient in Weleda's Birch products is organic Silver Birch (Betulaalba) grown in South Bohemia (the Czech Republic) and hand picked from certified organic wild harvest.

The Birch has an incredibly high sap flow, with 70 litres of water per day being drawn up through the roots right through the tree to the tips of the leaves and out into the atmosphere – it’s a tree with great circulation. Another feature of the Birch tree is that it separates out the hard mineral deposits and directs them into the bark (Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide). The sap that goes through to the leaves is relatively mineral free which is why they’re so light, flexible and youthful looking. These unique properties of the birch enabling it to loosen deposits and bring flow to the body make it ideal for use in detoxification products.
